With 2 birthday candles already burning brightly on the V Festival Australia birthday cake, we thought we would give you a little taste of the V Festival background. So here goes ... Well once upon a time (1995), in a land far far away (well the UK) the illustrious Pulp front man Jarvis Cocker, voiced that he would love to play two outdoor shows, over two days. So, Virgin waved their magical fairy wand and two locations were found allowing UK fans from the North and South to enjoy the luxury of a banging lineup, whilst staying put (the bands that played one venue on Saturday moved and played the other venue on Sunday and vice versa.) For over a decade, V Festival's (which are held in UK, USA, Canada, South Africa and of course own turf here in Australia) have long been touted as the ultimate highlight on the festival circuit. Only the finest acts in the world, have been handpicked to play (Coldplay, Pixies, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Radiohead and Beck to name a few) and whipped V Festival audiences across the globe into a frenzy. It is our absolute pleasure to serve to you another slice of the V Festival Australia cake in 2009, iced with only the finest artists.
