FAQ

Can I volunteer at V Festival?
At this stage, V Festival won't be engaging volunteers, however groups such as Virgin Mobile Angels and Act Now will have volunteers onsite at the festival. If you are interested in offering your services, email us at team@vfestival.com.au.

What time does it finish?
We'll be wrapping things up in all cities by 10pm, but please check our website all the way up to the event for updates, cos things change!

Are there any other bands to be announced?
Now that would be telling wouldn't it? Sign up for updates if you haven't already, so we can let you know.

Are you taking submissions for bands to play the festival?
Yes! Garage to V is the answer you are looking for. Wouldn't you love to play the opening slot, in front of 10's of 1000's of screaming fans? Check out the Garage to V website for more details.

Gate times?
These will be confirmed closer to the events, but we expect to open early afternoon in all cities - festival style.

When am I getting my tickets?
If you buy online you can choose to print your tickets at home or even have your ticket SMS'd to your Mobile phone.

Tickets purchased at outlets will be in your hot hands within seconds of you handing over the cash.

What can I/ can't I take with me?
Anything you want! AS LONG as it isn't one of the prohibited items listed in the V festival Terms & Conditions.

Is there parking available?
We encourage our festival goers not to drive, especially if you have public transport options available to you. We are working with Public Transport Service providers to make sure that there is additional transport available.

In Sydney, we're in the centre of town so WHO NEEDS to drive! Anyway there's no parking, so phone ahead, use Public Transport and call the transport info line 131 500, or www.131500.com.au.

The Gold Coast will easy breezy as always with the Carrara Park & Ride in operation with free parking there and shuttles and from the site from all over.

Melbourne is at the wonderfully convenient Showgrounds and with its very own train line and trams as well PLUS a tiny bit of parking, you should be set - PLEASE DON'T PARK in surrounding streets if you want your car to be there when you finish at the Festival!

Our new home in Perth at Claremont showgrounds also has a trainstation right there and your ticket includes public transport thanks to TRANSPERTH.

Full details will be available closer to the event on this very website. Remember though, its better for your karma if you don't drive!

Is it all ages?
All V Festivals are Over 18 only events - you must bring photo ID as proof of being over 18 otherwise you will be denied entry. You need to carry this with you at all times as you may be asked throughout the day to present ID.

What are the playing times?
Keen aren't you! Playing times are finalised much closer to the event after all the bands have drawn straws. There's a great deal of science involved, so register for updates (click here) and we'll let you know when they are ready. Of course ... these things are always subject to change, so our website's the best source.

I've got a market stall - who do I speak to?
At this stage V Festival won't be having market stalls at any of our event.

Will Richard Branson be there?
Richard has a very demanding international schedule, and we're not sure that he will be able to make it to Australia in March/April. If he can, he certainly will! Hey he was here last year!

Why isn't the festival coming to Adelaide?
V Festival is a logistical challenge and we have had to fit all the events into just two weekends. We do still love Adelaide though!

Are any V Festival acts coming to Adelaide?
It's too early to confirm anything at the moment, but register on our website for updates and we'll let you know what final our plans are.

My friend is in a wheelchair is there a disabled drop off and parking point and what facilities are on site to help us?
We work hard to ensure that access is as easy as possible for any V Festival fans requiring assistance to access the site. We will be installing a variety of facilities for mobility impaired patrons (as we have done in previous years), and details will be available before the event.

Am I allowed to bring a camera to the festival?
Yes, as long as your camera is a personal camera without a professional standard zoom. We also cannot allow you to bring in video cameras or digital cameras that record footage. Sound recording devices are also prohibited. Other than that, feel free to snap away!

Can I smoke at the festival?
You can smoke at the event, but we ask that you do so with consideration for your fellow V Festival punters. In Queensland, state legislation dictates that you need to smoke only within designated areas, and we have made every effort to make these areas comfortable and within view of at least one of the stages.

Where can we find the set times and information about the artists?
Site maps and playing times will be available on our website in the days leading up to the event and will also be available on the day around the site. Information about the artists is available on the lineup page.

Where can we find accommodation and travel details?
Virgin Blue is the official airline for the event and we have partnered with them to provide affordable travel, accommodation and ticket packages for the event. Click here.

If you don't live near a Virgin Blue airport, we also offer group bookings for bus companies in regional areas. Please contact your local bus company to enquire as to V Festival package availability, and if you have no success, please contact us at ticketing@vfestival.com.au and let us know where you are and the name of your local bus company.

I have a broken leg and am 8 months pregnant. Can I bring a chair to sit on?
You poor thing! But unfortunately the answer is no.. But don't worry, we will be making arrangements for mobility impaired customers and others with issues that would warrant them being seated. There will be more details closer to the event.

Can I reserve a place in such an area?
You cannot reserve a place on this I'm afraid.

How do I get from Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta) to the Festival?
The Festival will be operating a variety of shuttle services from Broadbeach and other Gold Coast centres to the Festival. For information regarding how to get from the Airport to various destinations click here.

Melbourne Showgrounds - is that where the Big Day Out used to be in Melbourne
Yes it is, however in the 2 years the Big Day Out hasn't been there, the venue's seen some major changes in a multi-million dollar upgrade. You won't recognize the spanking shiny new venue when you walk in - we were very impressed!

How can every ticket be 'carbon neutral'?
Our ticketing partners, Ticketmaster, have assessed the energy burned by their business in selling each V Festival ticket. At the end of the event when we know final sales, Ticketmaster will carbon offset this energy, thus making each ticket carbon neutral. This means

Will there be sniffer dogs there?
It wouldn't be a Festival without them, so give them a pat and move on!

How many tickets can I buy?
There's no limit on tickets but we are watching to see that they don't appear through unauthorized channels. NEVER buy tickets from an unauthorized source or someone you don't know because you are taking a huge risk.

All our tickets are barcoded so if the ticket you bought from 'that guy online' is stolen and doesn't scan, that's the end of your day....

Its not worth it.

What happens if I cant go to the Festival, can I sell my ticket to someone else?
Sure. Plans change, but don't sell it at a mark-up and you are best not to try and sell it online... there may be tears.

What is your re-entry policy?
There are no pass-outs, so be well prepared!

Are there ATM's on site?
We always aim to have facilities onsite, but we are in a paddock, and toying with technology, so you are best to make sure you bring adequate cash. If however you need some coin, we have withdrawal facilities at some of the bars.

Will there be tickets sold at the event?
There will only be tickets available at our box office on-site if the Festival hasn't sold out beforehand.
